Becky!!
HAHA! Im the first “young person” to write a blog go me! Well anyway I don’t really know what to say so if I start going on sorry : ) . Anyhoo Oxford was an amazing experience, but really what teenager can say they sang in Oxford University. So it was an opportunity of a life time and I did it wuu! The house was brilliant. It was really comfortable, it didn’t make you miss home. Not just the singing was amazing but the whole trip was, from singstar (you go Hannah) to shopping in the market and the high street. I loved every minute of it, especially me, Hannah and Sabrina’s muffin contest (don’t even ask ). It’s not just the great trips we go on that makes Freedom Road so awesome, it’s the fact that it’s sort of like a family (corny i no) because yeah we argue and fight but we also look out for each other and it sort of makes us a large dysfunctional family.

Summer's here! Time for a new Summer School!
Well, summer's here: the hot weather, the beach, holidays, no school! Great isn't it? And just to add to the fun of summer we've decided to run a new project at the end of August: The Freedom Road Creative Arts Summer School!
We're going to run workshops over four days and produce a performace on the final night! The workshops will be in Drama, Dance, Singing, Circus Skills and Song-writing.
AND, we've got young people from Scunthorpe and Calderdale regions joining us! Freedom Road is branching out! We're going to use the four days not only to create and perform, but also to make a pledge for Hull City Council to make to young people in care in the city.
Unfortunately the Summer School is full this year, but we will be running more and opening them up to a wider group of young people! Watch this space!
Finally, the next blog on this page should be the first post in a series from young people. You can find out what they've been doing, what they've enjoyed and all about Freedom Road's trip to Oxford!
Speak soon...!

A new day, a new charity, a new blog...
Well we're officially set up! We received the charity number this week so all of the drama, dance, song-writing workshops we run plus Freedom Road (the band) are now part of the charity Freedom Road Creative Arts. How exciting! We've also got out website (freedomroadcreativearts.com) launching on August 10th along with the band's new CD. They're gonna be playing at Zest, Newland Ave, Hull at 2pm if anyone fancies coming down and joining in the celebrations. We'll hopefully have some other big announcements to make regarding our patron and a possible massive gig for Freedom Road in 2009, so keep checking the blog for more info!
